Who We Are

First Presbyterian has actually been around for quiet some time, although it looked a lot different from the thriving church community we have today. We've come a long way from the original building that burned down on the corner of 6th and White in downtown Grand Junction. Since then, we have moved to our current location and undergone several renovations including adding an additional part of the building in 2014 and remodeling the sanctuary in 2021. Even with all the changes and hiccups over the years, we have remained united through it all. Now, we worship together with God in the center of every part of our lives.

Our Congregation

The people in our congregation comes from a variety of backgrounds and faith experiences. Through that, we cover a broad spectrum of vocations, generations, educational levels, music tastes, socio economic statuses, and political affiliations. Some of us grew up in this Church while others are still learning what it means to follow Jesus – or to be a Presbyterian. We don’t all go from the same place, and that’s okay! Together, we serve God and his Kingdom, celebrating His goodness in everything we do.

Serving on the Western Slope

Living on the Western Slope of Colorado means we're fairly laid back – although we are familiar with and embrace our heritage as Presbyterians.  We like to laugh and worship – and often laugh in worship. We like the fact that God is constantly pushing us back into the community and world to serve in His name. Most of all, we like seeing each other at church and in our everyday lives.

We also love making new connections! We’d love the chance to get to meet you and invite you to come to our church to experience our community firsthand! Please feel free to reach out so that we can get to know you!
