Sanctuary
Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, a time of prayer and preparation as we move toward Holy Week and the celebration of Easter. The name “Ash Wednesday” comes from the ancient practice of applying ashes to the heads of worshipers as a sign of humility before God and the great need for redemption through Christ. It is a day for reflection on and repentance of the things that need to change in our lives as we continue to follow Jesus Christ. This service provides space for quiet reflection. For those who desire, we will conclude the service with the imposition of ashes.
