Joshua Sherman
Contemporary Worship Leader

As the contemporary worship leader at First Pres, my heart is to help foster a culture of worship where people can meet God and be transformed by the work of His Word and Spirit. This is paramount and personal to me. When I graduated with a degree in Christian Theology from Seattle Pacific University, I was burned out and unprepared to face the world. I began to doubt my abilities and even my faith. But God used experiences of joyful and triumphant praise at Ballard Church to bring me back to faith. I went on to lead worship there, then participated in worship at Quest Church. Carol and I moved to Grand Junction in 2013 with our daughter Melody, and we've enjoyed being closer to Carol's parents, seeing more sunshine, and the pace of a small town. We were drawn to First Pres by strong teaching, welcoming people, excellent children's programs, and opportunities to join in pursuing excellence in worship. I enjoy producing music and participating in various outdoor activities including hiking, boating, camping, and cycling, as well as cooking and just spending time with my family and friends.
