A Job Well Done - God
Bless |
Thursday, July 12th -
We
did it! We completed a 20x22 house for Angela and her family. We ended with
plenty of time so lots of extra touches were added. It was the smoothest
stucco finish Tom has ever seen on one of these trips. We were also able to
end with plenty of time to present the keys to Angela before she had to go
to work for the evening. We sang songs, gave her and the family a few
baskets of rice, beans and other staples, took some pictures together and
said a prayer for her and the family. They were not able to make it out to
our campsite last night for dinner so we were glad to have some time with
them today. We will miss them and think of them often.
Tonight
we will celebrate communion together and reflect on our week in Mexico. What
did we see, learn, feel and think. Here´s a few thoughts from some of our
students . . .
God has blessed me in SOOOOOO many ways this week. He has shown me that no
matter what he is always going to be there to help even when the going gets
tough!

Hello Grand Junction. This is your summer intern Nick. This was my third
trip down to Tijuana, and each trip is unique. The group was incredibly
flexible and resilient. We had many unexpected challenges and nobody
complained or whined, everything was taken in stride. I think it comes down
to a complete reliance on Jesus, and knowing that things will work out the
way He has planned. Thank you so much for allowing me to go on this trip and
for having me in your church family.

This
whole week has been amazing. When we first arived at camp site I thought,
wow this place is barren and dry and barely even has a fence. Now when i
come back at night everything looks differernt, I see expensive cars and
tents and fresh water. All I have seen has really changed my perspective on
what poverty and hard work really is. Over these four days a house has grown
up out of the ground, and piles of lumber and gravel. It is amazing what can
happen when god works through a group of 26 people.
