WINTER

Parade of Lights – Help build a float to enter in the Parade of Lights!

Confirmation Class – Beginning in January, students 8th grade and older will have the opportunity to take Confirmation Class and become a member of the church.

Ski Weekends – Middle and high school students who enjoy skiing or snowboarding (or just being in the snowy mountains) can go on the ski weekends. Last winter we went to Crested Butte.

Souper Bowl Sunday – Collect cans of soup on Super Bowl Sunday for the local food bank.

SPRING

30-Hour Famine – A 30-hour group fast filled with activities, service projects, prayer, and worship. Funds go to World Vision which works in over 100 countries all over the world “to find lasting ways to improve the lives of children and families in poverty.”  Coming in April, 2008.

SUMMER

Great Escape– This week-long retreat at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado is usually the highlight of the summer for those middle school students who attend. The students hear great speakers, experience exciting worship, have fun rafting, hiking, enjoying the mountains, and learning about their Savior! This trip usually happens the week on or before Fathers’ Day in June.

Short Term Mission Trip- In July 2007, our high school group, along with many adult volunteers, drove to Tijuana, Mexico to build a house for a family. We also led a VBS time for the kids in the neighborhood where we worked.

We will return in July of 2008 to continue showing God’s love in this tangible way.

PARENTS

We have many activities throughout the year that give youth an opportunity to connect with other students, grow more in their faith, and serve God!

· Serve in Angels & Saints (nursery)

· Fundraising events

· Volunteer as ushers and greeters on Sundays

· Participate in canned food drive for the food bank’s 35th anniversary

· Work at Homeward Bound and the soup kitchen once a month

· Help support our Compassion child, Alef, through Sunday School offering and writing letters

· Small groups for middle and high school students

We strive to provide a ministry to youth that encourages and strengthens your student for life in the real world. At the same time we want to support your family.

Know you are always welcome to call, email, or drop in to talk about issues or concerns you may have. We have dedicated volunteers who love God and love teenagers.

Let us know if there is something we can be doing to further support family life in our ministry.

We know you are your student’s number one influence and teacher, and we want to help you on that journey.

We will have regular family ministry nights, and will also be offering  Parenting Sunday School classes  as well as an adult Bible study  specifically for parents beginning in October.
