Sean Moats

             My name is Sean Moats and I am the Director of Student Ministries here at First Presbyterian Church of Grand Junction.  I am 27 years old; I have a beautiful wife, Jamie; and we have 2 amazing sons. Matthew was born in December 2005, and Caleb was  born in August 2007.  We have lived in Grand Junction since July of 2004, and I love living in Western Colorado. In my free time I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, camping, and hanging out with my family.

             I also love to hang out with middle school and high school students whenever I get the chance. I believe that it is vitally important to build relationships with students. A wise pastor once told me that people don’t care what you know until they know you care,  and I think that is especially true with students. I consider it a great honor to be a part of peoples’ lives,  and I love that God has called me to be here at 1st Pres and be a part of this church family. 

I have a lot to learn about life, ministry, and this whole journey of faith, but I have learned a few things along the way.  I love to come alongside others and point to Jesus who is the source of all that we so often frantically search for… life, love, strength, direction, identity, purpose, hope, joy, change, growth, friendship, a sense of belonging, and acceptance, just to name a few.

The more I learn about God, His great love for us, His kingdom, and how He wants us to be a part of what He is up to in this world, the more excited I get! I truly believe that we are in this thing called life together and that we are not supposed to go at it on our own.
